Default Account IP = Outgoing IP for that account?

    Hello

If I have cPanel/user accounts, each with different IP addresses, when users from those accounts open sockets (through PHP sripts), why does the outcoming IP address appear as the main server's IP?

I cannot quite remember if this always used to happen, but is there something which needs to be configured to get this going correctly?

    Thanks

    WHM>>>>Service Configuration>>>>>Exim Configuration editor>>>>Domains & IPs
#** Automatically send outgoing mail from the account's IP address instead of the main IP address. Warning: If you turn this setting on you should make sure reverse DNS entries match the ones in /etc/mail_reverse_dns.

That seems to have no effect. Note that I'm talking about networking and server communication (ie. opening sockets) from PHP.

I am sure I remember it used to work, but now suddenly I have a client complaining their dedicated IP does not seem to be the outgoing on for their connection. I checked by sending a http get query to one of those sites that tells your IP address, and it confirms it.

    Did you try /etc/mailips and /etc/mailhelo ?

No I have not...this issue is unrelated to mail.
