    Post Anti-SPAM Solutions

What happened to all the howto anti-spam solutions? As soon as cPanel11 hit they have all gone to the waste side and no longer function. The new version of cPanel is good, but definitely is not a great anti-spam solution by itself. The only things I see available for cPanel11 are ASSP, Cloudmark and a few other purchase products/services. Any suggestions for howtos out there that include Bayesian filters etc?

    Thank you.

ASSP in and of itself isn't a "purchase solution". There are three ways you can approach it.

    #1: No client backend
This is 100% free, and if you aren't looking to pay for a solution will work perfectly for you. You just need to update the software yourself.

    #2: Assp-X (free client front-end)
Make sure you understand that this is free software and has been verified to (in some cases) cause your server to relay mail, rather than prevent spam. Support on this is to be expectedly slow, author takes weeks to address vulnerabilities.

    #3: Grscripts.com - ASSP-Deluxe (paid client front-end)
For $20/yr, this really can't be beat, and it's incredibly worth it. The client front-end is great, the setup is wonderful, and the author provides timely support for products.

    Anyone have any non-ASSP suggestions?

2 RBL's builin to cpanel will knock down 70-80% of all smtp attempts against a server with a couple hundred domains on it. spamassassin can help filter the rest serverside.

I am aware of this. It is not enough compared to previous solutions.

MailScanner installed by Chirpy is working well for me. It combines spamassasin, clamd, and mailscanner, DCC, and Vipuls Razor into an effective comprehensive mail solution.

    I use

    1. CPanel RBLs
    2. Exim sender validation
    3. Spamassassin

Those combined reduce the spam load to 2%-3% levels, unfortunately some days ago more spam is bypassing spamassassin, I hope new rules will solve the problem soon. I will like to have a guide to create my own rules for SA, maybe anyone knows about it .

I thing Chirpy mailscanner might do a great job instead of SA so I am considering switch to.
