    Question BoxTrapper Issues

Has anyone else experienced issues with BoxTrapper logs filling up on e-mail accounts with it enabled after awhile? I've even tried changing the configuration settings for BoxTrapper on their e-mail account and setting 'How many days should logs and messages in queue be kept' to 1 day but it doesn't seem that the logs are ever purged. Is this a bug or is there a script that is supposed to be executed to flush the log?

As a workaround for this I've had to create a bash script which runs via cron to purge the BoxTrapper log directory.

Also the next BoxTrapper issue I've seen is that when a mailbox has reached it's allocated disk quota BoxTrapper continues to receive mail rather than bounce the message with a permanent undeliverable message and instead in the BoxTrapper log it shows blank messages and the messages seem to just disappear since it can no longer write to the mailbox with it being full.

My guess would be if you search the bug tracker you're going to find multiple bug reports on boxtrapper for many issues. My suggestion would be to stop using it all together. Some like it, but only some. I think most don't use it any more as there are better alternatives to preventing spam. IMHO.

I recommend letting our technical analysts assist with diagnosing and resolving this issue: http://tickets.cPanel.net/submit

I recommend submitting a support ticket using the URL in my above post.

I'm experiencing that right now ... zero byte files with no clue who the message came from and whether it would ever get delivered. And even with me checking it frequently, it can happen without warning.

My workaround ... cron to run bash script at 00:01 daily that removes all files in the log directories (I have several) and symbolically link /dev/null to the day's log file name.
