No, there is no workaround. If your mailserver IP does not have rDNS, your email will be rejected by pretty much everybody. All shared IP's have a rDNS, all dial-up IP's have rDNS, this is not a problem. Just use something generic if you want, as long as it is actually valid and it points back to your machine itself. It by no means has to be one of your customers domain names, just get something even as generic as mailserver.outgoingmail.com, and point it to your server, make it your server hostname, and rDNS to it.
