Cpanel offsite mysql, dns and email

Can these items be remoted to different servers?

Also I have MS DNS and a MS based Email server (Merak) which has groupware and calendaring, outlook integrations (very nice) Is cpanel about to make these API calls?

Well, you're not going to be able to integrate them. But you can certainly use third-party DNS, though it won't be automated with cPanel, and you can also use a different mail server but again you'll have to configure POP3 accounts, etc, manually on your mail server and disable all the mail functions in the cPanel themes.

I am surprised that cpanel would not allow you to remotely control even the same local components from other machine. Never mind windows...

The only things that cPanel provides such functionality for is MySQL services and DNS (though only through another cPanel server).

how many control panels you have used that allows you to do this?

I currently use hosting controller which allows you to set the following services on each on its own dedicated machine

web server (control panel does not need to be on the same machine
mysql
mssql
dns primary
dns secondary
email
stats server
