Duplicate domain local and external

Hello,
WHM 11.15.0 cPanel 11.18.1-S20683
Have a domain on an external server and will prepare to move it on my server.
Will do the DNS switch when everything tested.
Created the account but now all the mails send from this server to "Domain" try to go directly to the "Internal" domain and do not search for the real DNS. This shortcut finish in or missrouting mail or errmsgs.
Can I temporary tweak some DNS or MX on the inside domain settings for to force the mails to go to the right IP.

Yes, you will need to update the MX record and point mail to the external domain. Also be sure that the external domain resolves and is listed in /etc/remotedomains
