email forward to null?

I want to setup an email account "empty@email.com" where any emails sent to this will be automatically deleted. I remember I can put something like :null: but not sure exactly how.

This email account is for sending newsletter. But I don't want to receive any emails from this account. It's only for sending mails.

Anyone can help?

You can setup a filter from the cPanel and Discard all the emails that will be directed To the email address.

If you just want any emails sent to that address to be deleted then set the forwarder to :blackhole: it will accept the email and then /dev/null them

ahh...it's :blackhole: and not :null:. Thanks.

Now, another question is what's the difference between :

1) Adding filter to "Discard" a mail based on "To" abc@mail.com.

2) Adding forwarder to forward abc@mail.com to :blackhole:.

I would assume (2) would work faster than (1)?

What are you trying to achieve exactly? If all you want to do is to not receive email to the alias it's best to set it to :fail: so that no email is actually received. If you want to recve it, process it, and then dump it, it doesn't matter which one you use.
