    Default email forwarding spam problem

I have setup a forwarding email as below

    email1@mydomain.com forward to email1@aol.com

    Spammers spamming emails to email1@mydomain.com

Then i received spam abuse reported by aol to my webhost stating my server sending spam.

Those spam mails are not sent by me, it is just forwarded through my server.

How can i prevent such spam mails to be forwarded ?

    Thanks.

You can set the email filtering on the email address email1@mydomain.com.

Default Report Spam and use Filters

"thewebhosting" is right. First report spam emails you get from spammers on email1@mydomain.com. Once spammers filtered you will probably not get spam emails on email1@mydomain.com means those will be not forward to email1@aol.com.

Since some spam will still get through, you could still have the problem.

I was having such problems... finally got fed-up enough that I disallowed forwarding emails to aol, yahoo, hotmail, msn... haven't had problems since.

I did the same, banning forwards to those sites.

AOL is probably the worst because they make it too easy for users to report something as spam. The "report spam" button is right next to Delete button.

I have seen many spam reports for very valid emails, like ongoing conversations.
