Hi,
Some time ago, domainA.com and domainB.com were hosted on the same server on Hosting Privider #1. Every time domainA.com sent email to domainB.com (or viceversa), since both domains were listed on the localdomains file, they were delivered to their inboxes internally, am I right up to this point?
Now, domainA.com decides to get a new Hosting Provider #2
BUT...
Hosting Provider #1 decides that he doesn't want to delete the account where domainA.com was hosted on his server and even if the domainA.com DNS are pointing to the new Hosting Provider #2, domainA.com account still exists on Hosting Provider #1.
Now, when domainB.com sends email to domainA.com, it is not received, but domainB.com doesn't receive a bounced message from the new Hosting Provider #2 Server. Where are the emails going?
Resumming...
- domainA.com DNS point to Hosting Provider #2
- domainB.com DNS point to Hosting Provider #1
- Hosting Provider #1 has both, domainA.com and domainB.com accounts (though domainA.com might be disabled, but still existant on this server)
- Hosting Provider #2 has only domainA.com account
Questions...
- Why doesn't domainA.com receive any emails from domainB.com (emails are going somewhere because no bounced emails are received by the sender)?
- What has to be done to fix this issue?
Thanks and sorry for the long explanation. I hope I didn't confuse any of you guys.
Regards,
Sergio
