Default Email routing to only local

    Hello,

I am wondering how to setup an e-mail account in cPanel which will only allow that e-mail to be sent to local e-mail addresses on the same server. For example:

someone@domain.com can only send to any other e-mail address at @domain.com that is currently setup on the server. someone@domain.com can not send e-mails to account@hotmail.com for example.

Is there an easy way to do this? And if so- how would I go about setting this up? (Note: I have both WHM and cPanel access).

    Thanks in advance!

No, this would be configured at the account level, not specific to individual mailboxes.

The only thing that I can think of to do what CyberGeek wants would be with a custom mail filter. There is nothing built into cPanel or its Exim Configuration Editor to allow for this type of configuration.

I have moved this thread to the Mail section of our forums for better exposure since it is a specific mail-related question.

I want to do the same as CyberGeek, since i want to limit the people on our company that could reveal a secret by email. all information should be kept inside the organization. not sending to 3rd parties and not receiving from 3rd parties.

This is the only discussion on this forum where I am aware of how to possibly configure this type of setup exists:

Posting on exim.org mailing list might be the best course of action otherwise. They are very helpful in trying to help configure special options such as you are needing.
