    Default Errors while installing Mailman

Ok. Back to my original problem .....

When I run "/usr/local/cpanel/bin/mailman-install --force" it fails.
Here are the last few lines of output from the command ......
    Code:
directory permissions must be 02775: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/messages/ast (fixing)
directory permissions must be 02775: /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/messages/gl (fixing)

Warning: Private archive directory is other-executable (o+x).
This could allow other users on your system to read private archives.
If you're on a shared multiuser system, you should consult the
installation manual on how to fix this.

    /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/mail/mailman must be set-gid (fixing)

Re-run as mailman (or root) with -f flag to fix
Any idea how I can fix this?

I see a warning message, but I do not see any fatal errors from the provided output. To diagnose the issue it will help greatly to know more details about the reported failure. Please provide the full output that is displayed upon forcing a reinstall of Mailman. As the output may be lengthy I would consider wrapping it within the BBcode "CODE" tags (Reference: cPanel Forums - BB Code List - Code).

Please also let us know what specific symptoms are being experienced that culminated to needing to force a reinstall of Mailman; for example, are you unable to setup a new mailing list via cPanel, or is your existing mailing list malfunctioning in some way? Please elaborate in further detail regarding the issue that is being experienced.

    Default Friendly moderator note

    I moved your post from:

    http://forums.cpanel.net/f43/webmail...g-161106.html#

to its own thread. It appears that a redirect was not left, and I apologize for the confusion.

As Donald mentioned, there are no fatal errors in the output you have provided. Is Mailman currently not working? Can you please provide a description of the situation that led you to reinstall Mailman?
For hands-on assistance, please reference our new support information page: Where should I go for support?

    Hello jacampbe,

    I had the same problem.

    Just chmod 02775 /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/cgi-bin/admin

All should work fine. Finally, you should have the following :

    drwxrwsr-x 2 mailman mailman 4096 May 13 12:06 ./
    drwxrwsr-x 21 mailman mailman 4096 May 13 12:06 ../
    -rwsr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16316 May 13 12:06 admin*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 admindb*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 confirm*
    ---------- 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 create
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16324 May 13 12:06 edithtml*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16324 May 13 12:06 listinfo*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 options*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 private*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 rmlist*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16320 May 13 12:06 roster*
    -rwxr-sr-x 1 mailman mailman 16324 May 13 12:06 subscribe*

For more details, check tail -f /etc/httpd/logs/suexec_log

    Hope that helps!!
