/etc/localdomains

I have a client who keeps having email issues. Every time they notify me I look and see their domain isn't in the /etc/localdomains file.

Now this always fixes their issues but I would like to figure out why their domain keeps disappearing from the localdomains file. I have to re-add it once or twice a week.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Here is a couple of things to check.

Have you tried to WHM >> Main >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone once you open the domain in question tick the box Always accept mail locally even if the primary mx does not point to this server.

And in WHM >> Main >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings do you have Automatically setup /etc/localdomains, /etc/remotedomains, /etc/secondarymx based on where the mx entry is pointed?

That wasn't set for that domain, but it is now. Should this be set for every domain?

Yes, this was checked.

Thanks for your help. I've been working with WHM for a few years now, but this is the first time I've had root and have been responsible for about everything on the server.

We have only had to check that on a few domains that just for some reason were not in the local domains file when they should have been. I think this will fix your problem.
