Run /scripts/convert2maildir (it's an interactive script).

If it says you are on Maildir, you are on Maildir

Otherwise, you can use this utility to migrate from mbox to maildir. Note that this process will take at least several hours depending on the amount of mail stored on your server. PLEASE DO NOT TERMINATE THE PROCESS. This is a common mistake - impatient system administrators believe the process has hung when it has not. Terminating it will cause headaches such as a half-converted system. Let the process complete.

    Hi Guys

Why should we have to update to maildir when mbox is still a feature that is available? we migrated across months ago but I don't really recall seeing any notification that this step would be required in order to allow users to receive e-mail in the future when both features are still allowed as options.

This is a major problem with the way cpanel is developed, you are still not addressing the issue of having too many features available and you being able to cope with their development.

Cpanel is ripe for a complete rewrite, I don't think version 11 is it, it doesn't really seem to have changed that much, I am still ending up with 100's of users suffering problems as a result of updates effecting different servers in different ways.

    Major problems to address:

    reliance on perl
    exim

both seem to cause the majority of the issues these days (and for the past 7 years)

I really cannot understand how problems that keep cropping up are not addressed time and time again and the constant solution is to run /scripts/fix* /scripts/up*

How about clustering so we can have independent DNS and mail servers?
That way we couod have one large mail server with one set of anti spam tools on it and only one server to update (or one cluster of mail servers to update).

This is difficult to implement without cpanel's involvement because of the localdomains issue.

Imagine how much easier it would be if the mail was not on the same servers?
