Exim: unable to connect to port 25

hello,

starting today i got the following problem: a can't send or receive any emails


telnet localhost 25

221 hosting.domain.com closing connection
Connection closed by foreign host.

i just reinstall exim with /scripts/eximup --force, but no chenge happens.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Check /var/log/exim_mainlog (linux) when sending fails for errors/messages.

It's odd that there's a quit command in your pasted output which will, of course, terminate the connection.

That was a manual telnet session he had issued for testing - my guess, he probably typed quit himself.
