Exim won't send remote mail

I am having issues with exim not being able to send remote mail.

Local delivery works just fine.

Receiving and delivering mail to users is no problem.

Exim accepts mail from users for delivery. There is a rather long queue of messages waiting.

Nothing was done besides usual cPanel updates.

Telnet to any other host is unsuccessful. Local is ok

I tried rebilding exim.

I tried updating from the RELEASE version of cPanel to the CURRENT version to see if it would solve the issues.

I'm not sure how to proceed at the is point. Any ideas?

Have you checked the mail logs for details?
