Yes, you do this in the ASSP Interface (your domain.com:55555) or
via the link to it from WHM ASSP X ...

But I like to know something.

It rewrites the subject but how do we remove the mails ?
Do the clients need to set a filter to remove these or...
I'm new and I'm testing but it's easier to just ask :-)

And, you can set a CC to recive all the spam mail.
Is there a tag so we can send all spam mail to a clients address like:
spambox@domain.com, similar to what ASSP Deluxe added in the pay version ?

Open the web interface and then open "Testmodes" you can choose how it tags spam. You can also choose which tests it performs in test mode and which are in production (you can also choose the production tests from the WHM plug in as well).

If you look under "Email Interface" you can change the blacklist / whitelist addresses.

Guys, why should you login to Web Interface? ASSP X has easy to see buttons where you may set Test Modes for EVERY ASSP filter. They are very easy to use and you not risk to broke your ASSP.

P.S. 1.3.1 released. After many days of testing we have reworked recommended penalty settings to limit the chance of false positives with still high efficiency.
    • ENHANCEMENT: PenaltyError (Penalty Error Message) text modified to be more clear that it is IP Penalty.
    • ENHANCEMENT: PenaltyLimit (Penalty Treshold) option changed to 150 (from 75) as default as false safe value.
    • ENHANCEMENT: PenaltyExtreme (Penalty Extreme Treshold) option changed to 300 (from 200) as default as false safe value.
    • ENHANCEMENT: maxSMTPipSessions (Maximum Sessions Per IP Address) option changed to 50 (from 15) as default.
    • ENHANCEMENT: maxSMTPipConnects (Maximum SMTP Sessions Per IP Address Frequency) option changed to 50 (from 15) as default.
    • ENHANCEMENT: maxSMTPipDuration (Maximum SMTP Sessions Per IP Address Frequency Duration) option changed to 120 (from 60) as default.
    • ENHANCEMENT: maxSMTPipExpiration (Maximum SMTP Sessions Per IP Address Frequency Expiration) option changed to 120 (from 60) as default.
    • ENHANCEMENT: smtpIdleTimeout (SMTP Idle Timeout) option changed back to default 120 to comply with RFC.

Amazing script. Thanks. We have some servers and I have installed it in 3 of them. Bad thing I would like to ask for help is that:

    1. assp.pl is overloading CPU on the three machines. Not eventual its >80% always
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
    18236 root 22 0 106m 77m 1896 R 83 2.0 341:56.16 assp.pl

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
    22782 root 25 0 69532 43m 1764 R 99 1.1 9:07.10 assp.pl

    2. Sometimes the service (SMTP PORT 25) just does not reply. It accepts connection but displays nothing. I suspect it is due the CPU overload?

Thanks once again for the feature

My Exim craches every now and then, probably about 5 times a day and I cannot figure it out. It's not a load or memory problem, as the server's load is mostly below 1.5, and the memory usage hardly every use swap space.

tail -f /var/log/maillog OR tail -f /var/log/exim_paniclog doesn't really reveal anything, so what do I do?

    Guys, we need your input.

As we have added Spambox we need to decide either put most important filters into Test mode by default or not.

Without test mode client may only actually use Spambox after adding domain to spamlover list. Otherwise spam mails are rejected and they almost (there are cases when ASSP marks message as spam because of Bayesian, but as Confidence level is low email passed with Spam mark on it) never reach Spambox

With testmode all clients would receive spam unless they setup Spambox.

So what is better by your opinion? Of course, it may be configured to suit the chosen client needs but something working common better.

When I integrated it, i couldnt see anything related to ASSP on rvskin theme, plus it removed the option to add/remove email accounts.. tested in 2 servers

Make sure you run at least RVSkin 7.26.
Force upgrade of ASSP X, then force upgrade of RVSkin.

    Will try, thanks

Any word on the cpu overload?

    My experience with ASSP:

Installed in 3 servers with 1000+ domains each, assp.pl uses 100% CPU all the time. SMTP service will become unstable and sometimes down

Instead of relying on testmode, spamlover, or ccallspam; could the spambox script take the eml files from the spam collection folder and drop them into the user's spambox folder? That seems like one solution at least.

Have you missed something? ASSP X has native Spambox already! It works exactly like obsolete SpamAssassin Spambox and move spam to "spam" folder if customer wish so AND disabled some filters.

It is the main trick - I guess we should disable all filters when customer enabled Spambox. But when Spambox disabled we can't to know which filters where disabled in past and we will enable all of them. It may be a minor issue for client.

Alternatively we may put all filters in the TEST mode at ASSP itself. But it would means that all customers will receive spam either to their inbox (Spambox disabled) or to their "spam" folder (Spambox enabled).

    What do you think, guys?

What does ASSP X use to get the messages to the spambox? Does it take the messages from the spam collection folder? Does it use spamlover/testmode/ccallspam to collect them? I am curious to know.

I noticed that ASSP X does a lot of work in exim.conf, perhaps you could also address the issue of sub-addresses in exim? I have an enhancement request open here: http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=5292

It should be pretty straightforward in exim, the only problem would be writing a frontend that would control the filters for subfolders and such.
