Greylisted messages not retrying?

A customer tried to send a message to a host which greylisted us.

this is the bit of exim_mainlog that recorded the transaction. It appears our server never tried again and gave up after ... zero seconds... (all the time stamps are the same time)... any clues as to why this server didn't retry to send the message after getting the 451 error?

I should add, that exim.conf is default:

begin retry
* * F,2h,15m; G,16h,1h,1.5; F,4d,8h

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you found a solution for this problem? Because I have exactly the same problem. In case exim know that the recipient host had to many temporary failures in the past, exim does not retry anymore to deliver the mail.

See the thread at http://forums.cpanel.net/f145/email-...-a-229122.html where it is explained that lack of retry behaviour is due to a problematically low default setting of an Exim parameter. It is in the changelogs for CP 11.31.1.2, so see if that fixes it.
