Default Hidden mailboxes in Main Account's Horde Webmail ?

    Hello,

    I have a question regarding Cpanel/Horde/Webmail.

I'm the new technician at my job. The previous admin left so I replace him.

The boss told me that he used to monitor some employees' emails via Cpanel main account in Horde. He had access to every mailboxes.

The problem is that the previous admin removed a few mailboxes from Horde in the default account. The emails addresses still exist and work without any problem. They are just absent in the default account Horde.

How to restore them back in Horde ?

    Thank you.

    Steven

Lightbulb Using main account to access individual e-mail accounts

E-mail access from the main account to individual e-mail accounts is provided by symbolic links (symlinks) within the cPanel user account's mail directory that that link to the directory of each individual e-mail account. If needing to restore or recreate the symlinks this may be accomplished using the following script via root SSH access:
    Code:
    # /scripts/linksubemailtomainacct

Is there a way to achieve the opposite? i.e. disabling access to mailboxes from the main/default email account?

Please note that the symlinks do affect mail authentication or logging-in to each e-mail account; the symlinks only make it easier for the domain owner to access the folders for those e-mail accounts (e.g., via Webmail).

To disable the aforementioned linking, you would need to remove the symlinks from within the user's mail directory that link to each e-mail account; however, I am not aware of an option to prevent them from being created for new e-mail accounts so I may suggest posting this as a feature request on our forums:

Regarding the ability to authenticate or log-in to each e-mail account using the account owner's system account password, this can be disabled using WHM at the following menu path and option name:

WHM: Main >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings >> Mail
    * Allow mail account authentication using the password of the domain owner's account

I know this is an old thread, but I found it looking for an answer to the same problem.

I believe I have found a fix that should benefit at least some of you.

The fix for us was to simply subscribe to the missing folders/accounts in Horde > Folders > Show Unsubscribed. Squirrelmail works in a similar fashion.

    Tested using Dovecot.
