    Default How to forward the Default Email Account

    How can I forward the Default Email Account bounces?

    When a bounce happens it is sent to the default users account and I want to forward this to my hotmail account?

    I know there is a simple answer but for the life of me can't remember how to do it.

    Yes, Its bit simple. You can do it.

    Your default email account will be accountname@domainname.com

    So you just have to set up a forwarder on your cPanel to hotmail.

    accountname = your cPanel username.

    Actually, the default address in cPanel wouldn't be handled that way to forward emails. It isn't a normal forwarder area so it isn't the cPanel > Forwarders section but the cPanel > Default Address section where you'd set the forwarder for the default address.

    In the field that has:

    Code:
    Forward to email address
    Enter the email address to forward the default address, and ensure to click the radio button next to that option, then click the "Change" button. Here's a screen print of that area:

    I have mine still set to the default account in this example, but you'd simply change the field to whatever email you prefer. (I actually put it back to fail after this screen print, since I really have no desire to receive emails to that account.)

    If you only want bounces not all emails intended for the default address to go to the forwarded account, rather than using this area to set a forwarder, you could instead set a filter in cPanel > Account Level Filtering and select whatever match in the header would represent the bounce. It might be the "is an error message" one possibly. You might have to test bouncing a few messages to see the results to tweak the filter to work.
