How to Install / Configure ClamAV ?

hi i have a vps with cpanel , cent os installed . every thing is working just fine , but i dont see the clamav option in the whm--> plugins.
i have manually installed rpm with yum in my server but its icon still do not show up in the cpanel .
what should i do or which options should i check so that i can integrate clamAV in cpanel ?

here is my server whm version :
cPanel 11.25.0-R43286 [TRIAL] - WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9
CENTOS 5.4 i686 virtuozzo on server2

and here is how i installed clamav :
CentOSInstall < Main < TWiki

it installed ok but still do not show in the cpanel , or in whm-->plugins

here is the installed version of clamd :

root@server2 [/etc/yum.repos.d]# clamd -V
ClamAV 0.95.3/10379/Thu Feb 11 06:40:46 2010


any suggestions ?

To integrate CPanel and ClamAV then you need to:

1. uninstall your manual clamav installation
2. goto WHM - Cpanel - Manage Plugins: clamavconnector
3. relogin WHM
4. lookat WHM - Plugins: you will see new menu item 'Configure ClamAV Scanner'

Hello Every one :

When i run the command : clamscan -ir / -l clamscanreport

The scan starts and says :-

Trojan-Small FOUND
Phishing.Heuristics.Email.SpoofedDomain FOUND
HTML.Phishing.Bank-1 FOUND
PHP.Shell FOUND
Phishing.Heuristics.Email.SpoofedDomain FOUND
etc ..
etc..

Many such messages like the above, but my query is, Is the scan also clearing the found virus and trojans or do we have to do some thing else to clean these files ?

any assistance will be appreciated.

Have you installed clamav as per guidelines in earlier posts of this thread?
If so, are you running a VPS.

I would recommend a re-install of clamav from "WHM >> Manage Plugins" and if it still does not work, you can open a ticket with cPanel.

Is this thread still valid??? I ask only because it still says that ClamAV via the WHM>> Plugins section says it's a BETA VERSION!!!

Hello,

In WHM > Manage Plugins > clamavconnector, the version listed of 0.96.5 is actually stable per the clamav site @ Clam AntiVirus

So, the clamav version itself is stable and not beta. I cannot state why it has that it is BETA in the Description text for that plugin:

Author: cPanel Inc.
Installed Version: 0.96.5-2.4
Version: 0.96.5-2.4
Description: Virus Protection for Email and Filemanager Uploads !!BETA VERSION!!
Price: free

Also, we've seen Tweak Settings memory limits causing clamavconnector to fail to install. For anyone who is having issues with the installation completing, please try upping WHM > Tweak Settings > Max cPanel process memory to either 512 or unlimited. Once it successfully installs, you could then decrease the maximum memory for cPanel processes again to the prior level.

Kent, clamAV updates the signatures to the latest from clamAV update servers daily. However I think major clamAV version will not change unless you have an updated cPanel and you remove/reinstall clamAV.
Here is the cron thab cPanel adds during clamAV installation.

[root@cpanel ~]# crontab -l |grep -i clam
43 1 * * * /usr/bin/freshclam --quiet --no-warnings
