You will need to contact a Technician from your license provider.Originally Posted by TitaniumHosting

You know I didn't realize this but there are actually hosts out there that set things up and point their clients here!!! no wonder the forums are littered with crap like " help me install older phpBB now!!!!!!!!"
These poor bastards have paid $34.95 for 10 years of hosting with some fly by nite host and been told to come here for support!! I would have an attitude also ..but against the crooks that took my money ..not the people here. But so many of them that come here really think we took their money and ran ..charged their credit card too many times ...won't turn back on their 300GB/day spam account ...etc.. what a grave yard and dump site for wounded customers. We need a section in here called "The Emergency Room" and the first post should tell people that if you were sent here by your host ..check you back pocket for your wallet before you sit down ..hehe
Just keeping my "eye" on things....

I run a web hosting business, offering dedicated servers with cpanel included.
I don't even post links to cpanel at all, not for support or anything, i personaly like my clients to submit a support ticket to my company, and we will work out there problems insted of sending them over to cpanel, and if i cant help them, I personaly, will contact cpanel about the problem, i wont go sending my client over to them, i think that's plain rude.
i mean seriusaly, would you like other business's who link to your support system for supporting there clients?
I hate it when people push there clients to other businesses.
I dont know about other people here, but I personaly, injoy replying to support tickets for my clients.
Thats my 2cents![]()
I know exactly what you mean, and I imagine many others here do as well. We do not send our customers here either. Customer support is one of the reasons most who sign up with us don't leave.Originally Posted by Dr. Bogger

What's really annoying is the one that sends them here almost sounding like this is their support forum.
David, and all those who contribute to this GREAT forum:
Just a loud THANK YOU for the tremendous job you do.
For a newbie like me, this forum is a life safer,
as so many solutions to problems lie in front of my nose,
and all I need is a pointer so I can see and use them!!!

Looks like it time to bring this thread to the front again

This is just one of the many examples that have surfaced lately where the server owner/admin either wants to be spoon fed with all the answers, Knows how but is too lazy to go look for themselves or is in way over their head trying to manage a server.
Over the yrs there has been very very few issues happen that a search of the cpanel forum or a google search will not provide the answer.
If you experience level is not high enough to understand the fixes that you find in a cpanel search or google search do not come to the forums and demand we tell you how to fix it, instead either log a support ticket with your license provider or hire a system administrator or ask NICELY in the forums and hope someone will OFFER assistance to you.
very nicely said. i'll think twice now when i post.
I like this thread, but it still seems not many new users are reading it.

Isn't that part of the problem?![]()
After reading this thread I just wanted to thank everyone that helps out here on the forum. All of us at cPanel just wanted to pass along our thanks and appreciation.
To everyone that tries to seek support here though, as stated earlier, this is by no mean an official support channel. We have an excellent ticket system and some of the most able and helpful support staff in the industry who are passionate about fixing problems when they arise and genuinely want to help out customers that run into problems. (sorry for the run-on)![]()
Have a good one, and once again, thanks for helping out on the forums and thanks for using cPanel!

Just thought I would drop in and ask a question or 2 in this discussion.
First, I support php scripting so believe me, I know where you are coming from. Ive had everything from personal attacks to actual server attacks because of people who wanted to get my attention ( the server attack was only once, but that there is one time too many).
So, Ive had to gain 2 things, first a kind of objective perspective to where I never left support strictly left in my hands, basically treating each problem as if I didnt actually care, I hate to say it but that almost took the fun out of it but I cant let one bad apple spoil the bunch.
As a person who has not posted much here, I have done more then my fair share of research on configuration and problems that arrise on my server. Ive only had my server for a little over a month and I came here seeking help because I, like so many others, was afraid that I would misconfigure or totally destroy the server, then thats downtime.
Perhaps others havent said this, but without people like you all who provide this support, People would not have so many servers up and running. I mean I think Ive posted about 2 different support questions here. I read a lot and simply put, theres a wealth of knowledge behind all those forums that people refuse to look at.
I do have one question while Im here. Id like to know where a book to cpanel is or more preferably if anyone offers training and mentorship? I know thats a harsh and wierd question but I learned php from nuke because I like to take things apart and figure out how they work, then build off it. Nuke no doubtedly isnt the best place to begin but I have developed some pretty nice scripts for websites and now that I am on the backend, guess what I want to do. LOL
Most people dont have the drive so questions like mentorship ussually get responses of yeah right, like Id waste my time.
As a host, I personally find it necessary to provide REAL support and knowledge and not the half truths and whole lies that were fed to me when I first started. To here hosts sends their clients to cpanel forums says 2 things, first being that the host needs to learn, which is why I come here and read a lot of posts, and that you all are doing an excellent job and to be honest, I wouldnt trust someone who wants money all the time. Thats commendable and deserves some respect.
Just my thoughts, as someone new to all this.
