IMAP / Courier causing high load

Hi,

I have one client on one of my servers that has ~ 40 email accounts that use IMAP and it appears that whenever there are a decent amount of IMAP connections, the CPU usage skyrockets..... In an effort to reduce the # of connections allowed, and thus lower the CPU usage, I set my courier settings to the following via WHM:

Maximum Imap Connections (Total): 20
Maximum Imap Connections Per Ip: 10
Maximum TLS/SSL Imap Connections Per Ip: 20
Maximum Pop3 Connections (Total): 20
Maximum Pop3 Connections Per Ip: 10
Maximum TLS/SSL Pop3 Connections Per Ip: 10
Number of Authentication Daemons: 5

Both clients on the server are getting upset because apache is crashing/slowing down greatly due to the high CPU, as well as the IMAP client are getting upset because they can't check their email.....

Any ideas?

Got the same issue and it all started ufter ugrading to cPanel 11.24 (choosing Davecot over Courier didnt solved anything)
