lockfile & db files

Usually the following db files exist:

-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 12K May 20 17:55 callout
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 12K May 20 17:55 misc
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 9.9M May 20 18:00 ratelimit
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 0 May 20 17:55 ratelimit.lockfile
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 12K May 20 18:00 retry
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 0 May 20 17:56 retry.lockfile
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 12K May 20 18:00 wait-remote_smtp
-rw-r----- 1 mailnull mail 0 May 20 17:56 wait-remote_smtp.lockfile

When running exim_tidydb it complains about callout and misc not having lockfiles. Should these be present or are they simply not needed? Also, in one instance the misc db didn't exist but that was an easy fix.

Can someone confirm if the lockfiles are needed please as /scripts/exim_tidydb when run under cron is loading up the server badly every night.
