Mail Forwarding issue

hello

I have seen an issue (may be an issue or not, not sure).

In Cpanel, I have forwarded 2 email Ids to one pop3 account

abc1@domain.com to mail@domain.com
abc2@domain.com to mail@domain.com

when i send email to any of the one email id abc1@domain.com or abc2@domain.com, it gets delivered to mail@domain.com properly. But when i send email to both the email id together , only one gets delivered, other one just goes away somewhere, there is no report or bounce for the 2nd undelivered email. I find this quite unusual as I am trying to make a multi drop email BOX for all office employees and fetching it through fetchmail on office server.

has anyone faced this kind of problem ?

When you forward 1 message to 2 email addresses that both get forwarded to the same destination, rather than sending 2 copies of the same exact message, only 1 copy is delivered. As far as I am aware, this is by design.

Thanks David

but now if i have to use the same POP3 mail box for all my employees, then this feature will give issues if multiple email addresses are mentioned in same email.

how to address that issue ?

So all of your employees will be checking the same mailbox and this mailbox is the destination of the forwarders you are creating?

What issues do you believe will arise if multiple email addresses are mentioned in the same email?

David

this common mailbox is used by fetchmail on our local server to download emails and distribute them locally to individual users. if we specify more than one email id in the same email, then all the receipients in same mailbox are not getting emails thats the issue i am currently having.

It sounds like you're forwarding mail to a central mailbox, then sorting that mail to be re-forwarded the mail to separate mailboxes.

It sounds like it would be much easier to simply forward the mail from one mailbox directly to its final destination.
