    Default Mail Not Being Recieved

    Hello!

When I try to send an e-mail, it works fine. However, when I try to recieve an e-mail, it comes back as failed. How do I fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

I recommend checking /var/log/exim_mainlog, /var/log/exim_rejectlog and /var/spool/exim/input for clues as to why your server is rejecting mail.

Correct. There can be multiple reasons for this . Any error or bounce back that you get will help us narrow down the issue.

    This is what I'm getting:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

    turtle@slowanimals.com

    Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 <turtle@slowanimals.com>: invalid address (state 14).
Sorry for the late response, I was kind of busy with school.

What do your mail logs report about this message?

I'm sorry, but I'm really new to this. I don't know how to find that. I'm looking in my gmail account now (where I sent the e-mail from) to see if it has any more details, but I'm not finding anything. I also went into my cpanel to see if it had anything in the error logs there, but I could not find anything.

Like I said, sending mail from my cpanel e-mail (turtle@slowanimals.com) is no problem. I was looking in my ftp and maybe the mail is not being routed to the correct directory? I wouldn't know, maybe that's the problem?

Do you have root access to this server? If yes, do you know how to SSH to the server as root?

I think i have root access, I can see all the files on the server.

That's what I see when I go into the FTP.

I'm not sure how to SSH into as root though.

You do not have root access as indicated by the screenshot you provided. You should contact your hosting company about this issue since they will be able to fix this for you.

Okay, from the information that I've given you, could you give me an idea of what my hosting provider needs to do or how to fix my issue? Are there many issues that could be wrong with it?

Yeah, I tried to contact them, but they said since I changed the DNS they won't be able to help me. I'm going to contact my hosting. Thanks for taking to the time out to try to help me, I appreciate it.

You changed the DNS where, in your cPanel or at your domain name registrar?
