The company for which I work recently switched internet service providers, which included the transfering of our email accounts.
The transition was smooth with the exception of not being able to send email from our photocopier (a Xerox 7328).
I couldn't figure out what to do so we called in the company's networking consultant who couldn't solve the problem after having spent hours on it.
I then examined the email settings through the "cPanel" but couldn't figure out what to do.
I then called Xerox tech support and the person with whom I spoke for a couple of hours couldn't figure it out.
However, he did get me to conduct a telnet test by doing the following:
telnet>open OURIPADDRESS 25 (I'm assuming this is port 25)
The following message was generated:
220-southcarolina.phantomnetwork.net ESMTP Exim 469 #1 Tue, Oct. 2010
10:12:35 - 0700
220-We do not authorize the use of this system to transport unsolicited,
220 and/or bulk e-mail.
The Xerox tech support person told me this indicated that the problem was not with the copier but with our server.
Is there an adjusmentment I can make in our email settings in cPanel that can solve this problem so that we can get back to sending email through our photocopier?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
