Default pop3 failure after cpanel update

    hello,
we have a linux server using whm and cpanel. After updates today port 110 is failing on the server.

We are able to send emails, but we cannot recieve any emails.
we changed the incoming email port from 110 to 995 'secure' and we are able to recieve only local emails, no external emails at all.

can anyone please help? we have around 100 websites on this server, and all are facing the same problem.

    thanks halat

Any firewall on the server running?

Which version of cPanel are you using?

I too am having the same trouble, I run CentOS 4.7 and since last night I got an email stating that an ipcheck failed and now I dont recieve any email. When I go to sites to check if the email addresses are valid it says they are not valid.

IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
The hostname (elite.evermorehosting.com) resolves to . It should resolve to 69.28.251.26. Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the 'A' entry in zone file for the domain.

Some are all of these problems can be caused by /etc/resolv.conf being setup incorrectly. Please check this file if you believe everything else is correct.

    You may be able to
automaticly correct this problem by using the ' Add an A entry for your
hostname ' under ' Dns Functions ' in your Web Host Manager

I checked the exim logs to see what is happening to the emails and I see a bunch of this:

Don't know what is going on but I did not change anything.

Did you ever find a solution?
    I'm having the same problem.

Also, I keep getting a 404 - Not Found when trying to access the repo at
    http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/centos/...ata/repomd.xml

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At this time, we do not yet maintain our own CentOS 5.3 repository.

    We are also experiencing this with CentOS 5.3 and cPanel 11.24.4-S36281 - WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9.

This is not firewall related. Occurs even when it is dropped.

I have attempted a forced rebuild of exim, restarting pop services, switching from dovecot back to courrier and then back to dovecot, forcing a reinstall of cPanel all to no avail.

It appears the partition is out of space and may be the cause.
