Question about mail per domain IP

Hello,
For the new feature in the latest cPanel/WHM, you can set exim to send out via the domain's IP rather than the base IP of the server. I have a simple question. Will it still do this for example if a user's script is executed via cron and sends out PHP mail (using PHP from the command line)? Or will it appear to come from the base IP of the server?

AFAIK but I could be wrong, all mail originating from PHP will use the servers main IP address to relay out due to it calling the system mailer

I've also set in my WHM the option to send email from the domain ip address, but when the php script of the user invokes the mail command it is sent by the server main IP instead of the domain dedicated IP.

Anyone knows how to face with this problem? Any help would be really appreciated.

Most PHP scripts nowadays that send mail have the option to use mail() or use SMTP to send mail. Using SMTP to send mail is currently considered best practice.
