Question "REJECTED - Bad HELO - Host impersonating

I just recently transferred accounts over to a new server. The server is setup in DNS, RDNS, etc. It is what it says it is in terms of ping etc and has been active for five days now.

I have a client having his email rejected from some mail servers with

"550 "REJECTED - Bad HELO - Host impersonating" though.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

check with your host if they have setup the reverse dns entry (PTR) for your main i.p. to match your hostname?

    Default Same problem here

    Hi,

I'm having exactly the same problem. I have an older server mydomain.com and I recently ordered am additional server mydomain.com.br.

My clients in the new machine can't send e-mail from their accounts to accounts in the older server, ex.:

    user@userdomain.org.br to me@mydomain.com

    My older server replies:
SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<user@userdomain.org.br> SIZE=1655:
    host mydomain.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]: 550 "REJECTED - Bad HELO - Host impersonating [main.mydomain.com.br]"

Solokron, did you have your problem solved?

Any answers will be highly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Ricardo

    My issue was DNS/RDNS related.

    Default No RDNS with cpanel

I'm having a reverse problem as well. Is WHM/Cpanel supposed to be setting up reverses? I'm comparing now and not a single in-addr.arpa in the new setup named.conf that I can see compared to the old server.

Typically your data center administers PTR records. If they have delegated RDNS to you check out the following thread:
    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....&highlight=PTR

We administrate our RDNS and the instructions in the thread work wonderfully for us and is very quick.
