I have CPanel's Exim as follows:

# rpm -qa  | grep exim
exim-4.69-28_cpanel_maildir
I want to remove it and install a new EXIM via a new RPM or from source.

If I do so, will I break the CPanel-EXIM connection?
By this I mean, will my forwarders stop working? Will my exim-related WHM functions stop working?

Have anyone ventured into this direction before by installing EXIM from scratch and what were the results?
