Rename e-mail account

I have an e-mail account that I use with IMAP that has a lot of e-mails in it, is it possible to rename the e-mail account? I need to re-use the current e-mail account as a POP3 account but I still want to keep all of the e-mails on the server using IMAP.

Probably the simplest way would be to create the new account and ensure it has no email in it. Then copy the mail file/folders from the old to the new account, then delete the old email account. Email folders will be under /home/account/mail/domain.com/emailaccountname/*
