    Angry RoundCube Address Contacts Missing

    Hello all,
Not sure what’s happened here but many of my clients have said their Address Book contacts have disappeared within RoundCube webmail on the cPanel. My server administrators have said it’s something on the database on the cPanel. They said they cannot lift the contacts from the database.

I would check the following directory for MySQL database backups from RoundCube updates:
    Code:
    /var/cpanel/roundcube/
Via root SSH access, the following command may be used to locate possible backups to use:
    Code:
    # find /var/cpanel/roundcube -maxdepth 1 -type f -name "roundcube.backup.sql*"
I would also ask the service provider to check backups of the MySQL database named "roundcube"; it may also help to relay the above information to your service provider so they may assist further.

    Default Roundcube contacts missing

We are also suffering from this problem! What happened to roundcube database??

We did not even run update or anything! It just got empty?

(And there are no backups in this folder ...)

I've run into this a couple times now and had to restore my Roundcube database from a backup. I'm thinking what is happening is that when we restore an account from a backup it is overwriting the entire Roundcube database instead of just appending the data for that one user to it. The problem started upon upgrading to 11.25.

In fact you are absolutely right. This happened around the time when we restored an account from a 11.25 server. Now I looked into the cpmove archive and in the mysql folder there is a roundcube.sql dump which drops EVERY table in roundcube database and then recreates it!

    Thank you cpanel!!

    I'll put this in bugzilla.

Thank you for the report and information. For reference purposes, this issue has been assigned the following internal case ID number: #36815

Once the fix has completed Quality Assurance testing it will be in an upcoming build.

The issue is fixed in the latest BETA builds, but before being available in other build trees (e.g., EDGE, CURRENT, RELEASE, STABLE) it must fully pass Quality Assurance testing. At the present time I do not have further information available regarding an ETA.

I just got done moving a ton of accounts from two smaller servers into one large server and run into this problem.

Using mysqldump I was able to import one server's roundcube.sql into the newer, bigger server. However, this doesn't seem to be working with the second one (it just replaces all the information).

Is there any way that I could dump the information from the second smaller server and have it added (not replacing the other server's info) to the roundcube mysql on the big server?

The issue is now fully corrected and the fix is available in all the latest builds of cPanel 11.25, including build trees RELEASE, CURRENT and EDGE. STABLE is currently at 11.24, but upon upgrading to cPanel 11.25 it will also include the same correction.
