    Default SMTP Issue

Recently I reloaded the server OS and reinstalled cPanel.
After that I am not able to sent emails from Thunderbird email client.
I have tried telnet safwan.info 25 to check if I could connect to SMTP but with no luck.
    What could be the reason?
    Thanks in advance.

    Couple of suggestions :

    1. Check if your local IP is blocked in the server firewall.
    2. Check if port 25 itself is blocked. Try using alternative SMTP port 2525.

Your ISP is probably blocking port 25. This pretty common with ISPs nowadays. As the above poster just mentioned use an alternative port and it should work

I am running exim on port 26 and still i get no response with telnet safwan.info 26
I have checked from various IPs where port 25 was not blocked, but it could not connect...
What could be going wrong now?
    Thanks in advance

    telnet safwan.info 26

    fails for me as well.

Is the port open on your servers firewall?

Is exim listening on port 26? You would have to configure it in the service manager.

Go to WHM -> Service Manager -> exim on another port -> Make sure "Run another copy of exim on port" has 26 port added.
