Question Transferring Address Books to new cPanel

Hi --

I was transferring cPanels from an old server to a new one. We didn't need everything and I didn't know about the copy server option at the time. Through out dedicated servers IT department, I was told to create all the email addresses on the new one, then copy the "mail" folder over.

I did this, and that was fine. The problem is the address books didn't transfer.

Is this somewhere in the etc folder? How would I transfer just the address books?

Thanks,
Kerry

You would need to transfer the files and/or databases this data is stored in. Horde and Roundcube store their address books in databases. Squirrelmail stores its address book in your home directory in the user's .sqmaildata directory.

Do you know where those databases are? Normal MySQL Databases, is it in "information_schema", which part should I copy?

Thanks!

The roundcube database is stored with the database name: roundcube

You will find a contacts table in the roundcube database.

The horde database is stored with the database name: horde

In my very brief testing, I found my address book entry to be stored in a table called turba_objects
