Default Turn off Exim and SA when hosting email externally?

On a couple of VPS systems, all the domains have their emails hosted with an external service provider, who also provides spam filtering services.

Can I totally turn off the following on such VPS systems:
    • Exim
    • SpamAssassin

The VPS has php scripts for various CMS that will still need to send out emails from the domains hosted on them.

    Default

Turning off Exim would be silly, I realize.

    But, how about SA?
