Default 'welcome emails' are not sent to new users

I am testing the 14-day free installation of CPanel and have one problem.

Users for which I create new CPanel accounts seem not to get their 'welcome emails'.
The email system works just fine because I (the CPanel admin) do get the emails that notify me that a new user account has been created.

Could you guys tell me what the cause for the unsent 'welcome emails' might be and where I can find the button that allows me to resend the welcome email to a particular user?

    Thanks
    RH

No such thing? No warm and fuzzy welcome letter sent to the owner of the new user account?
Listing technical details like URL to log into her CPanel account, what settings to use for their email programs? Things like that?

    None???

I used other panels (as a customer) in the past and they always greeted me with an informative email. You're telling me that there is no such thing for CPanel? Not even in an add-on?

These emails are typically sent by whatever billing software you are using that integrates with cPanel/WHM. cPanel/WHM itself does not send these emails.

Welcome emails are either sent by the billing software, or by a postwwwacct script like mine. See the Custom Scripts link in my sig. I have a postwwwacct script for automatic welcome emails.

Folks, thanks a lot for your help with this question.

Especially the link to the Custom Scripts is VERY helpful as I am wrestling with some scripting issues also. Thanks a lot!

Enjoy the scripts. I started playing with perl shortly after playing with html, then when I went into hosting, I started writing a few scripts to make my work easier, and later on decided to share some of them with others.

    hi guys

i'm new to the forum and new to WHM and Cpanel. Been using DirectAdmin with my previous re-seller package, but moved to another Host and they have WHM, etc.

Without getting into what's better and all I would like to point out that being able to send out an automatic Welcome Email upon creation of a user/account, plus also to be able to re-send it manually via DirectAdmin is a huge thing i miss.

In the area where u can do that in DA, you also get a complete breakdown of the user and his/her plan. So visually easy on the eyes :-)

Anyway, I've briefly done a search on the "welcome email" issue and there doesn't seem to be many threads on it.

so, for curiosity, (and education :-) ) does anyone know why such a simple and handy task is not possible via WHM??

What's the developers point of view on this? Do they have a certain philosophy against it?

One thread i read was from 2005, so it doesn't look like this feature is on the cards??

    Thanks all

This functionality is typically handled by the billing software used in conjunction with cPanel/WHM, hence there's not a significant demand to duplicate this functionality in cPanel/WHM itself.
