Default What would cause an individual user to not be able to access SMTP Server?

Firewall is off, SMTP server works fine, yet every time this user tries to connect on any account, the connection times out (because it never connects).

No settings on his end have changed, we've recently got a new server.

    Can anyone suggest anything?

IF it that they cannot send email through the server (on port 25) and it is just the one user, then it could well be that their ISP is blocking port 25 access, which some ISP's seem to be doing these days. The user should either use their ISP's SMTP server for sending out email, or you could enable exim to run on another port in WHM > Service Manager > bottom of the page. The user wold then have to modify their email client settings to use the port you enable instead of 25.

Checked that, says he can send mail fine with hotmail configured on outlook (I assumed it uses smtp on 25?).

Don't trust the user about the hotmail, make him telnet to your port 25 to see if the server responds.

Have him open a DOS window, then "telnet mail.servername.com 25"

If he gets the smtp server response then you can be sure he sees the port, if he gets nothing or it times out then he is not really able to see your port 25 at all.
