Any "improved" cpanel backup scripts that allow daily/weekly/monthly file retention?

Hello,

We've got some customers who want a bit more from the default cpanel backup system.

As you all know, the cpanel backup system has three backup "cycles". (Daily, weekly, monthly) The file from each backup cycle overwrites the previous backup cycle's file. So at any one time, there is one daily file, one weekly file, and one monthly file.

The customer wants to have 5 daily files, 2 weekly files, and 2 monthly files.

So for example, if today is Thursday, they want to be able to restore from Monday's "daily" backup file.

Does anyone know of any way to do this?

No, but you can add your request to one of the many backup options requests in Feature Requests for cPanel and WHM - cPanel Forums

Yes, there is a way to do this.

We have a script that has been in use for years that rotates daily, weekly and monthly backups as per retention cycle settings you make.

Check it out at WHM Scripts.

There are other postings in this forum about it.

The only issue you might have is that the setting is server-wide.
