    Default Backup blocking FTP?

    Hello,

We are backing up two servers trough WHM backup function onto a third server on a weekly basis.

We made this by creating a backup folder as a symlink to the 3rd, backup, server.

The problem is after the backup process is finished FTP service stays up but no user can connect to it until we restart FTP. FTP client reports a "no response" message.

Did anyone have a similar problem and resolve it and how? Is there a better way to make backups from one server to another using WHM?

I am not really sure this is the right place for this question. Maybe we should submit a support request?

    Thank you in advance,
    Ivan Bjelajac

It's hard to diagnose this without seeing the logs. Check /var/log/messages and see what it says is going on with the ftp connection.
