Default Backup is so slow and not completed!

    Hi there,

I have a VPS and I want to transfer my accounts to another VPS, both have WHM/CPanel.

I tried to make a full backup from every account but every time I wan to generate a backup it complete after 1 day or a few less!
after that I used cpbackup command for creating a backup from all acconts. they are only 60 accounts with 10 GB storage, but that completed after 2 days.
After all, I transferred some of accounts but now I see they have no database backed up.
after looking backup log file, more errors has been occurred on mysql some of them are:
Grabbing mysql dbs........horde.turba_objects horde.horde_prefs horde.horde_prefs: mysqldump: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'sending authentication information', system error: 32 when trying to connect
/usr/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'sending authentication information', system error: 32 when trying to connect
horde.kronolith_events horde.kronolith_storage horde.mnemo_memos horde.nag_tasks horde.nag_tasks: mysqldump: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'sending authentication information', system error: 32 when trying to connect
/usr/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'sending authentication information', system error: 32 when trying to connect
    ...Done
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists!
    Entering timeout safety mode
Grabbing mysql dbs........ERROR 2013 (HY000): Lost connection to MySQL server at 'sending authentication information', system error: 32
mysqldump: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading authorization packet', system error: 104 when trying to connect
I went to update cpanel to latest current but I have a problem that came here: http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....005#post456005

    Can you solve these?!
    regards,

you seem to have some mysql problems.
make sure that you are not running out of RAM on your VPS.
you should also check the mysqld.log file for details.

    thanks for yor answer.
After those error I tried to dump databases and then more times I gave errors like above. After all I can dump all of databases & transfer to new VPS and import them one by one.
but still I don't know what was the problem with mysql. Old VPS has 1GB dedicated ram and no memory problem. mysql service restart at any time without logging why!

This error message is self-explanatory. It might be a network connectivity problem. Ask your host to check on the condition of your network, if this error occurs frequently. For more information about this problem, I suggest you search MySQL Web site at: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/...onnection.html

Self-explanatory if you read what the user was having issues with, which are not network related.

    It is localhost.

Why would that be a network error?
