Default Backup users & configuration to remote - Workarounds?

For whatever logic, as many will know it is not possible to backup both users and the server configuration files to a remote FTP site... Currently we backup users to a remote FTP site, as we don't have the local space to store their accounts. However, we would also like to backup our configuration files... Therefore, is there a way we can manually run the backup solution to backup the config files locally, but leave the currently automated WHM weekly remote FTP backups in place?

    Thanks,

    O.

    Hello organic,

This isn't currently possible to configure in WHM > Backup > Configure Backup area, but there are discussions on how you might achieve this in the following threads:

    http://forums.cpanel.net/f49/backup-...tml#post709690
    http://forums.cpanel.net/f49/cpanel-...tml#post907672

There is also a feature request that you may wish to lend support for the option:

    Thanks!

Thanks Tristan - I had a quick look at those links, however I think maybe my question was a bit unspecific: Essentially I want to backup our server configuration remotely - Is this at all possible without first doing it locally? Is there a script that purely packs up the server configuration alone?

It isn't possible without first doing them locally, so you'd have to backup locally first for configuration files and accounts, then remotely FTP what you want FTPed.

or you can waste resources to ftp every single file one by one
