[Case 50060] [config] Cannot save FTP user password with special characters ?

Hello, i have a confusing that password with special characters like &*(? are saved in Main >> Backup >> Configure Backup cannot use to connect to ftp server.

I use Filezilla with this password to connect without error. But when save in config and try backup manually it said: "Net::FTP=GLOB(0x9b21d84)<<< 530 Login incorrect.".

Then i try to change ftp user password without special characters, it's work.

So Cpanel cannot save FTP user password with special characters ?

Could you please check the contents of /etc/cpbackup.conf.shadow for the BACKUPFTPPASS contents to see if it is saving the password properly there?

Also, can you please update cPanel to the newest version for 11.28, which is 11.28.87 as 11.28.60 is not the most recent version of the 11.28 branches. You can view the most recent versions at the following location:

Thank you for reporting this. I filed the matter as a bug with development. It is assigned case 50060.
