Default Configuring backup, does not work?

I tried to configure the backup via WHM and installed addon "Configure cPanel Cron Times" under "Plugins"

Today is Saturday 9 AM (server time). To see if the configure backup works, I checked "weekly" and checked "Saturday". Then I changed the cron plugin backup to 0 10 * * 6

    Backup >> Configure Backup:

    Backup Status Enabled
    Backup Interval Weekly
    Days to Run Backup Saturday
    Incremental Backup Disabled
    Backup Accounts Enabled
Backup SQL Databases Per account only
    Backup Type Remote FTP
I entered ftp host, backup user and password
    FTP Backup Passive Mode Enabled

Im expecting backup to kick in at 10 AM, but nada! no backups were created.

I tried forcing the backup to run since its on the same day and it was successful

can someone enlighten me on this, as to why the configure backup does not work (backup did not run at 10 AM as expected)

    thanks

hmmm i noticed no one replied

anyway when i tried to force the backup it went okay

so i waited for one week

come jan 6 the backup should have run, but when i checked the logs it says

"Weekly Backup is up to date"

no backup files were generated. What are the possible causes of this?

On the file /etc/cpbackup.conf, check if BACKUPRETWEEKLY is set to 0. Change that to 1. Even though backup retention is selected to weekly on WHM, I have seen many instances where it still shows 0 on the configuration file.

One other thought is it was set to run at 10AM and you force ran it at 11AM so 1 week later it called the backup script and it checked and saw it had been ran less than a week ago, maybe just an hour less than a week but none the less it had be run.

If you force ran it again change it to 3 AM Sunday and see if it runs next week.
