    Default Cpanel DNS server

    Greetings,

at this time, I have a virtual machine serving a CPANEL DNSONLY linux box.

I'm thinking about having another server in the datacenter for that but it seems quite a waste.

Is it possible to install a secondary mail server, backup server, db server, or something like that, not cpanel related, to use the new server for other purposes?

    Is it recommended?

    best regards
    daniel

    Howdy,

Well the easy way would be to run cPanel proper on both machines and they could share DNS with each other and split some of the load from your servers.

That aside we don't lock you out of anything on the DNS only machine. You just won't get the handy cPanel interface to do it all in.

    Thanks!
