FTP directly into /backup drive

Hello,

I would like to be able to use my ws-ftp program to ftp directly into the /backup drive on one of my servers. Is this possible? if so, can you provide some directions?

PS - I'm using Pure-FTP on the server. I can change to pro-ftp if needed to make this work.
