Default Help Cpanel Backup - New user

    hi friends,

I have a box running cpanel when ever i tried to enable backups this error is displayed

    /backup is not a directory..
Backup has been disabled to prevent file loss..
    /backup does not exist..
Backup has been disabled to prevent file loss..
    Backup Configuration Saved

my server is having 2 hard disks that is

    hda: ST380011A, ATA DISK drive
    hdb: ST380011A, ATA DISK drive

so when i contacted the support team they said

It seems you haven't created any partition and mounted it yet. You need to create fs and mount this drive for using it. Also, you need to create a directory /backup and mount this drive on this directory.

but i don't know how to do that.. can any body help me with a step by step to do the same? i searched here but did not find any..

    please help

    Thanks in advance

    Default

    From SSH shell do this:

    df

That will give you the list of mounted partitiions on your server. Assuming that they're all hda partitions should mean that your hdb disk is empty and waiting for you to mount it. You can do this most simply via WHM > Disk Drives > Format/Mount a new Hard Drive > and you should get an option to format hdb, if you select that and be sure to use all the space for a single partition that you should call /backup, then let the procedure do the rest for you.
