Installing a backup... ? [moved]

On Cpanel I was told to upgrade my phpBB forums to a newer version, so I did. Then I discovered they didn't work properly and want my old version back. I have a backup of the forums, and there wer einstructions on how to install it, but my computer crashed and I lost the instructions. So can anyone explain what I do and how?
