    Default Large database backups

    I'm currently having a strange issue with cpanel backups where the sql dump of a large database seems to never exceed about 2.2GB, the database is approx 15GB. The entire mysql directory is copied fine, no problems with this part of the backup.

    Backups using mysqlhotcopy also work fine.

    Is this a common problem?

    You may need to edit /etc/my.cnf as follows, and restart mysql server.

    -------
    [mysqldump]
    quick
    max_allowed_packet = 16M
    [mysqlhotcopy]
    interactive-timeout
    ----------
    And try to take cpanel backup now
