Yes, it can be done with haproxy

(I know this because I have actually done it before using haproxy but it's not an easy setup)

Generally speaking, Cpanel doesn't support load balancing in and of itself so you will need the haproxy.

ok so how does it work, does haproxy sync your files in real time amongst the servers?

i have tried googling but not much is coming up.

basically if a users uploads a photo to say server 2 and then someone wants to view that photo who is on server 1, does haproxy sync all files setup in real time or do i need some other software?

    many thanks

I doubt haproxy will sync files for you. You may need to use other way to sync the files between two servers. I use Rsync + LVS for load balancing on two cPanel servers.

If you want to sync files, you either use rsync OR mount the drives using NFS. Yes, I have used haproxy and it works properly for apache on cPanel server. You can use rsync OR NFS depending on how often the data gets updated.

What about using GlusterFS to sync files between the nodes and HaProxy or LiteSpeed Load Balancer.
