The deleted files will be in FileManager>>Trash

Have you checked the Trash box in FileManager. If the files are not there, then there is no option to recover the files otherthan retrieving files from backup.

Do you have backups of your account?

    Thumbs up Solution

Yes you can recover deleted files from your trash folder, but it could be available if you have been deleted files from cPanel >> File manager and in your case you have been deleted it from cPanel >> File manager so check trash folder and restore it.

You might check with your host to see if he has backups.

Explain what not working means for you. For me I don't even see the trash can in the File Manager. (I deleted a file to test for your problem and realized I don't see the trash can icon) I see the trash icon in Legacy FM but it's empty after deleting a file in the new FM. I tried with two different browsers.

I can see the trashcan and can click on it to restore, but the files/folders do not restore. I tried in IE and FF and using theme x3 and x2. No luck.

So you delete the files in the Legacy File Manager, click the trash icon, click the file to restore but it remains in the trash?

You are not using the (new) File Manager during this process at any time, correct?

Yes, I always use the Legacy file manager. I haven't found the time to learn the (new) file manager.

You will need to have the company you pay for your web hosting contact our technical analysts so we can diagnose and resolve this issue.

I don't see a trash can anywhere in cPanel File Manager v3. Where is it? Would my hosts have disabled it for some reason?

You can view the Trash Can in Legacy File Manager from cPanel. Click on Legacy File Manager and at the right hand side you can view the Legacy File Manager.

Restoring an item from the Trash
You can easily restore a deleted file from the Trash by moving it from the Trash to another folder. Restored folders are automatically moved back to their original location. However, you will not be able to restore the item if you have emptied the Trash since deleting it - it has been permanently destroyed.

To restore an item from the Trash please, click on the icon of the item that you want to restore in the Trash area on the bottom-right of the window. The folder or file will be automatically returned to its original location.

    Emptying the Trash
To empty the Trash please, click on the Trash button in the Trash area. All of the files in the Trash have now been permanently deleted.

I don't think there might be any reason to disable this feature. Whenever you login to the cPanel the directory ".trash" gets created if disabled.

There is no trash icon in the new File Manager, only the legacy File Manager.
